The Three Muses Challenge - It's Time

The lady is from e-vint.com.  I have coloured her and cut a modest skirt skirt from her sleeve to hide the fact that she was showing her knickers.  The clockparts are from JenU Designs.  Happy New Year to all our friends in Blogland and at Flickr.

Looking forward to a New Year - 2016

This week's theme at Take a Word and Digital Whisper is 2016.  A happy New Year to all our great  friends who have kept the challenges going for so many years.
I inadvertently chose the same theme as Patti's at Digital Whisper but everyone can post to both websites - the more the merrier!
The image is from e-vint.com, coloured and altered.  The quote comes from Carl Bard according to Brainy Quotes.

Three Muses Challenge - Altering famous portraits

This week Ann has invited us to alter famous portraits.  I decided to update Queen Elizabeth I by taking a body from a Modigliani painting and adding her head to it.  I'm sure she feels more comfortable, having thrown away the huge and heavy dresses she had to wear.

This week at Take a Word the theme is WINTER.  Even though it's summer in my world I can still enter into the spirit of things. Snow is completely alien to me but I managed to fashion Mr and Mrs Snowman, vintage style, in my ArtRage digital painting program.

Cheeky Challenge Tuesday - Rich (Man/Woman) - Moneybags

Thanks to June for this fun challenge.  I started off taking a more outrageous approach but this is a kinder version, one for which I hope I can't be sued.  The original image (minus head) was a black and white picture from Finecrafted Designs.  I have painted it and removed said head. The trump portrait was Googled, the background is from Itkupilli and the moneybags were painted by me.

The Three Muses Challenge - Quirky Me.

In case the "blurb" above can't be seen properly, here it is again:

I admit it!  I wear aprons.  I make them myself because I need a voluminous pocket.  I carry around things that might be useful such as a length of string, a tube of glue, a pen, scissors, clothes pegs (pins), a pocket knife.  I use my pocket when cleaning.  It becomes a receptacle for balls of fluff, dried leaves, bottle tops, torn envelopes, other people's trash.  I sometimes keep a small radio in my pocket to keep up with the news.  I always carry my portable phone which is old-fashioned and weighs a ton.

My pocket has other uses.  It is a source of entertainment for my small grandson who loves to examine its contents, especially as I have been known to hide chocolate frogs (wrapped) in there.  I love my voluminous pockets.

An Ozstuffe Original.

Take a Word Challenge - BALLOONS

This week at Take a Word the challenge theme is BALLOONS.  Some of us might think that some men are so full of hot air they should probably be floating, not walking. Apologies to those men to whom this does not apply.  The images are from my own stash collected over the years.  I have overpainted their costumes. The balloon was made by my software and the background is from Createwings Designs.

Digital Whisper Challenge - Parrots

Australia has hundreds of species of parrots and cockatoos many of which can still be seen in suburban backyards.  This is an Australian ring-necked parrot known to all as a "Twenty-eight" so called because one of its calls sounds like the words "twenty-eight".  I have a family of Twenty-eights living in a very large eucalyptus tree in my garden.  Sadly, the loss of their habitat and the need for them to compete with other bird species for nesting areas means that they are becoming fewer in number. My picture refers to the fact that time is against them and they are dying out.

Take a Word Challenge - Making Memories

It's a bit hard to accept that photos of me are now VINTAGE.  This one was taken on my 21st birthday when I was emerging into adulthood (we were late bloomers in those days).  My bouffant hairdo screams the Sixties. I didn't have a line on my face and now my ten year old grandson asks me "what are those pleats in your neck?" Over fifty years ago!  I can't believe it.  My choice of partner was a disaster, my marriage a joke.  There are pluses and minuses but I guess the pluses have won because my three children and four grandchildren are a joy to me.
The background, edge pieces and ferns are from Lorie Davison at Scrapbookgraphics - one of the first digital kits I bought years ago.

The Three Muses Challenge - Freestyle and quote

The secret quads of a famous mother perhaps. The face is a clue.  The names give a hint.  The quote is mine but the lady in question might have said it.
I took a black and white photo of four vintage bathing beauties, coloured them in metallic sparkles using ArtRage software and added the faces.

The Three Muses Challenge - Madame Snail-Slayer

We are in our last month of winter in the Southern Hemisphere.  Snails love this time of year because everything is green and moist and spring flowers are starting to bloom.  I would love to have the power to rid the world of SNAILS!!
The background is from Lorie Davison, the snail image Googled.  The lady is actually from two pictures (one upper, one lower) which I have had in my stash for many years.
