The Three Muses Challenge - Doors

Yes, this is my (in)famous Uncle Paul (by marriage) who features regularly in my artwork.  The fact that his poor little wife, Julia, is standing while he is seated sums up their marriage.  (She was my mother's sister).
The photograph of church door was Googled, the photo of the bridal couple is from my family album.  Layers by Rosey Posey (SBG) and Vera Lim were added.

  2. A beautiful picture despite good old uncle Paul...I think that was pretty much the way of things around that time, I imagine there were many hellacious husbands.

  3. It is amazing how much expression and quiet thoughts old photos can convey. He does have a bit of a smug look about him and she a bit tentative. A beautiful door and altogether rich collage Marie. Wonderful entry as always!

  10. Marie, this couple looks mismatched from the start! Dear, sweet Julia looks like a saint while Uncle Paul has a sort of belligerent air about him! But, I love the art!

  11. Terrific piece of artwork. I believe men took their role then very seriously and believed they ruled the roost.............but can see Julia is humouring him, because she knows its all going to change after that day.....lol Annette x

  12. I bet he wouldn't have looked so smug had he known you were going to dress him in all kinds of weird and wonderful garb .... I remember the pink fluffy boots. And I also bet aunt Julia is having the last laugh now.
