Art Creations Friday - Strong hands, soft heart.

I never cease to be blown away by the choices made by the ladies at Art Creations for our Friday challenge. This is a most beautiful photo and the first thing I noticed were the strong hands. The lady is frail and old but her hands appear to be so powerful. I imagine that she has lived a very tough life on a farm with little time for anything but hard work. I have placed her, leaning on a rusty gate, dreaming about what might have been. I hope there were joys for her. There is a lovely quote by Mark Twain "Wrinkles should merely indicate where smiles have been". I hope this is true for her.
Thanks so much for this wonderful challenge. (Background stockphoto by Jen Ulasiewicz. Photograph of old lady from Art Creations Friday).

A Moo or Two - Spain

Thanks for the nice challenge. I Googled the vintage travel poster and added my own flamenco dancer (drawn and painted by me digitally in ArtRage which is a painting software program. I do this with a mouse as I haven't graduated to a tablet and it is not an easy thing to do in such a small space!!)

Theme Thursday - Beach/nautical theme

Thanks for the great challenge! Still very much beach weather here in the Southern Hemisphere.
The background paper and beach girl are by Kubivet (freebies). The frame is by Lorie Davison SBG,

Leonardo altered - The annunciation

This ATC is for a challenge at Flickr - Famous Works of Art ATC's. Very challenging. I had no idea how to tackle a very famous and grand painting so stooped to a little bit of cut and paste.
The image of the girl is from Outsider-Artists (freebie). The Archangel Gabriel was Googled. The background is by Create Wings Designs (at After Five Designs).

Mixed Media Monday - Heroes

Thanks for the great challenge. Background by Lie Phung.

A Moo or Two - Cards

Yes, the Joker is Wild and he refused to be contained within the boundaries of a tiny Moo so I had to give him some space.

Crazy Amigo - Colours - Fruit Plate

It is midsummer in Australia and the best time of the year for fruit of all kinds. Juicy, colorful, luscious, chilled fruit!! Because I have fruit on the brain, I thought it would be a nice choice for a colour challenge.

Postcard Sunday - Hearts - A Sad Tale

I have once again taken my Uncle (by marriage) out of mothballs to play a part in this week's postcard theme. Not everyone is happy on Valentine's Day.
Hearts and background by SherrieJD at Scraporchard, photo from my family album and tightrope walker Googled.
ENLARGE TO READ BERTIE BOOTROT'S SAD STORY.

Artarazzi - Me, Myself and I

Vron from Artarazzi has asked us to use our photo in a picture which is difficult for me as I am notoriously camera shy and hate anyone seeing shots of me. Still, this was fun to do. The words are lyrics from the song "I am what I am" by Jerry Herman. Read clockwise from left and then left to right across at the bottom. (ENLARGE TO MAKE TEXT EASIER TO READ).
Background and digital stamps by Maya at SBG, blue roses my own photo, dress paper by Berna Datema at SBG, alphabet by the late Carla Gibson (Oscraps), legs by Lisa Whitney.

Art Creations Friday - Beautiful Background!

The beautiful background painting took my breath away. It is superb!! I didn't want to add too much to it because it is an amazing piece of art on its own. The image is from a collage sheet by Maya at Scrapbookgraphics (altered) and the balloons and music are by Irene Alexeeva. Hearts for Valentine's Day.

Sunday Postcard - Chairs

I wasn't sure how to approach this theme but was lucky to find a very nice if faded, black and white photo in one of my old family albums. This is a picture of my aunt, aged 12. The chair is quite interesting. I think it has a rounded back rest. "Chairish" is, of course, a play on words - cherish. I have done some work on the original photo and given my aunt a new background which is by Madame Mim. Border by Sausan.

Artarazzi - Fashionable Lady

Thanks to Ann aka Taluula for her great challenge. I have used a photo I took (in my garden) of princess lilies (alstroemeria) altered. The background is by Berna Datema and the image is from Art of Costume Design Vintage Magazine courtesy of Takeabreak at Flickr.

Sunday Postcard - Circles

Thanks to Hermine for the Circle theme.
